Special Interest 01 - LOIKAW (Home for Kayan tribe – long neck women)
Loikaw is the capital of Kayah State & located in southern
Shan State of Myanmar and on the Pilu River, a tributary of the Thanlwin (Salween)
River. It can reach from southernmost part of Inle lake to Phe Khone by boat (5
hrs) and then drive to Loikaw by car about an hour and 45 minutes. And also it
is about 6 hours’ drive from Kalaw and just an hour's flight from Yangon.
The inhabitants are mostly Kayah also known as Karenni and have a population of about 30,000. National races are the Kayah, Gagho, Gagbar, Kayan (Padaung), Ma nu ma naw, Yin Baw, Yin Ta le`, Inn Tha, Shan and Bamar live in the Kayah State. In the hill regions, you will find the Pa-O national race as well. Most Kayah Padaung nationals live in Pan Pat Village, which is situated in Kayah State.
The famous religious landmark of Loikaw is the Thiri-Mingalar Taung-kwe Pagoda Hill, scenically built on a hillock overlooking the vast expanse of the environs. You can watch desolately at the pilgrims and enjoy the marvelous landscape form the top. Taungwe Taung Zedi is the most venerated pagoda in Kayah State. Taungwe meaning "Separated hills" in Myanmar. The Kinnare Bird is the national symbol of the Kayah State.
There are different tribes “Kayan, Kayaw, Kayan” and we can discover the rare tribe in this area.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport and fly
to Heho. Upon arrival, dri ve to Loikaw (06 hours), via Kalaw. On the way, you
may enjoy the beautiful landscape and its cultivation & visit Min Mahti natural
Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel & check in.
Evening visit to the downtown area & enjoy sunset at Taung Kwe Zedi.
If there is direct flight, we will take direct flight to Loikaw. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel & check in. Drive to Ta Nie lar le Village (45 minutes) where we may observe the way of life of Kayah tribe, 7 Lakes. Finally enjoy sunset at the top of Taung Kwe Zedi with the panoramic view of the city.

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Pan Pee village
(01:30 hrs) where you may see Kayan tribe ladies wearing brass rings around
their extraordinary long necks, Kayan traditional hand weaving, and wonderful
ritual, Flag staffs of Nat (spirit) worshipers.
It can access by car to all villages. But it is possible to make short trekking
by passing villages by villages. (Picnic lunch is possible to arrange at the

After breakfast the hotel, drive to Htekho village (2 hours).
On the way, you may enjoy the beautiful landscape with its hazy mountains.
Up on arrival, visit to the Ho yar village where we can obse rve the way of living of Kayaw tribes - sup-tribe of Red Karen (Karen-ni, Kayah) Women have long earlobes and many big jewelry, especially below the knee.
(Picnic lunch is possible to arrange at the village).
Late afternoon, drive back to Loikaw.

Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Phe Khone (01: 15
hrs) and transfer to the jetty.
Then take the boat Boat from Phekhone town (3 hrs) through Phekhone Lake & Inle Lake encompassed by breathtaking and refreshing landscape along the Bilu Creek.
On the way, Excursion Sagar Village on the way: Visit to Tha Gaung relic pagoda, other ancient religious monuments and ways of life of Shan, Pa O and Intha national races in Sagar village. Proceed to Inle Lake (3 hours).
Arrival Inle lake and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Inle.
Morning, breakfast at the hotel. Boat excursion on the lake &
visit to the local tribe market which held on every 5 days in their
correspondent village & Shwe Inn Dein pagoda complex.
Continue visit to Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda the most venerable pagoda on the lake, Inn Paw Khone village to observe the traditional hand weaving of silke and lotus petel robe, Nga Phe Chaung monastery, floating garden & floating farm, etc.

After breakfast at the hotel, continue for next destinations!.
