Mandalay “The Heart of Myanmar”

It is the second largest city of Myanmar, which is now as the culture center since it was the last capital of Myanmar Kingdom. Historically it is the most typical of the country’s large cities, a place where it comes close to the heart of Myanmar. With the population of 700, 000 & Mandalay is a trading center due to its centrally location.

The last capital of the Myanmar kingdom, Mandalay not only offers wonderful sights to behold, but also has a number of nearby attractions, most historical and fascinating, all within a 3.2 kilometers radius - from cool hill resorts to nostalgic market places, from an ancient palace to a river ride up the famous "Road to Mandalay", the Ayeyarwady River, or a ride in unique trishaws or horse-drawn carts.
 

 

Mandalay City Tour: 4 hrs

Pick up from your hotel at 14:00 & start your sightseeing to Mahamuni Temple – which is gilded with about one ton of gold and some other previous stones, such as rubies, jades, sapphires, diamonds, pearls, emeralds, etc.

Then walk around Kyauk Sit Tan to see the marble stone carving & gold leaf beating workshop.

Continue to visit to Shwe Kyaung Monastery to appreciate its fine teak design & assembly of the structure, Ku Tho Daw Pagoda - known as "The World’s Largest Book" - the complete Buddhist Scriptures inscribed on 729 upright stone slabs as slabs sculptured the teaching of the Buddha as a commemoration 2400th anniversary of Buddhism & also known as the world’s largest book. Pick up from your hotel at 08:30 AM & start your sightseeing to Mya Nan San Kyaw Palace- was King Mindon’s center of glory- a truly magnificent palace complex. However, it was tragically destroyed by allied bombing during World War Two. An exact replica of the old palace is now being built inside the walls, Mahamuni Temple – which is gilded with about one ton of gold and some other previous stones, such as rubies, jades, sapphires, diamonds, pearls, emeralds, etc. Then walking along the kyauk sit tan & gold leave beating workshop, Shwe Inn Bin monastery – the finest of wood carving.

Excursion Mingun by boat & Visit Mandalay: 10 hrs

Pick up from your hotel at 08:00 AM & transfer to the jetty. Then take the private boat to Mingun – situated 11 km from Mandalay of upstream of Ayeyarwaddy River.

During the river cruise, we may enjoy the fascinating landscapes of the river as well as the daily life of the people living along the Ayeyarwaddy. Visit Mingun pagoda – unfinished pagoda & the biggest ringing bell of 90 tons, the unusual shape Pagoda Myatheindan.

Excursion to Amarapura - an ancient capital of Myanmar, where we can observe the life of over 1000 monks at Mahagandaryon Monastery & silk weaving factory. Proceed to Sagaing, where we can observe the fascinating landscapes of the Ayeyarwaddy River from serene Sagaing Hill.

Then, Continue to Ava and visit by horse carts & visit to Maenu Okkyaung Monastery - built by the chief queen in 1818, Nan Myint Tower - 27 meter masonry high, Bargayar Monastery - well known for its wood carving with 267 teak pillars.

Come back to Amarpaura and enjoy the sunset by crossing over U Bein bridge.
